Andrew Bennett - trombone

 

       Andrew Bennett is currently employed as an instrumental music educator in the Fredonia Central School District. There he directs the Symphonic Band, Jazz Ensemble, and the Pit Orchestra while serving as the District Brass and Music Theory Instructors. He holds Bachelor's Degrees in Music Education and Music Performance from SUNY Fredonia, and a Masters Degree in Music Performance from Ithaca College. Andrew is also an active member of NYSSMA and the Chautauqua County Music Teachers Association.

       As a trombonist, Andrew Bennett has performed across the Northeastern United States and China. He has had the pleasure of performing as a soloist with local orchestras, such as the Auburn Chamber Orchestra, and as a section player for many area groups including the Western New York Chamber Orchestra and the Colgate Symphony Orchestra. He was also a member of the Realignment Trombone Quartet, the Second Runner-Up in the International Trombone Association's 2009 Quartet Competition. In addition to his full-time teaching duties, he currently serves as the Principal Trombonist of the Southern Tier Symphony Orchestra and is a sought after Western New York freelancer in both the Classical and Jazz idioms.
