Greg
Eldred has taught
instrumental, general and
vocal music at all levels at
the Coudersport Area School
District for the past 25
years. He is currently
teaching at the elementary
and middle school levels.
He holds a Bachelor of
Science degree in Music
Education from Indiana
University of Pennsylvania
and a Masters Degree in
Music Education from the
state of Pennsylvania.
He holds graduate
certificates in all three
levels of Orff-Schulwerk
from Mansfield University
and a Kodaly Method Level 1
certificate from Duquesne
University.
After
receiving his Bachelor of
Science degree, Greg joined
the U.S. Army to perform
with the Army Band of NYC.
While he was in NYC
and for a short time
afterwards, he studied with
the renowned teacher Leon
Russianoff through the
Juilliard School of Music
and the Manhattan School of
Music. During the same
time period, he also studied
with New York Woodwind
Quintet member, David
Glazer, through the Mannes
College of Music.
Greg
has been the principal
clarinetist of the Southern
Tier Symphony since it's
formation in 2003.
